K E N S A L R I S E

This kitchen, dining space and pantry redesign brief reached us from our TV journalist and author client. She was looking for better use of space and a design that would incorporate her love of the colour orange and real wood; not to mention her fascination with the 1970s.

70’s BUT MAKE IT CITRUS

It all began with a 1970’s Heals’ sofa. A design classic that inspired the theme for this journalist and author’s period home ground floor renovation.

Orange was the core colour with muted greys, concrete and wood to warm up this large space.

While the 70s was core to the style, sleek industrialism was woven in with crittall doors and concrete worktops.

Vintage items were sourced and styled with the client’s pieces.

A hand-sourced piece of Rose Calacatta marble was sourced as a feature splash. Diagonal to reflect mid-century geometry. But also why go straight up when you can go sideways?

The stand-out feature of the project is the bespoke terrazzo floor. Zoe had selected pieces of terrazzo tiles, broke them to size and hand laid them throughout the ground floor.

Grey concrete effect resin was then poured and buffed to give this completely original and high-impact finish

“Zoe is a stunningly talented designer and highly professional in her approach. She has a great team that seamlessly brings her unique vision to life. I couldn't be happier with the results that she achieved for me- understanding my brief and taking it to a higher level than I anticipated. I recommend Zoe without hesitation.”
